Now here is a government consultation that I know enough about to be able to produce a more thorough response than I managed for the HE one recently! The Government are reviewing UK Law on the marketing of breastmilk substitutes. Please watch this brilliant cartoon to see why this is so important to every mother and baby, not just breastfeeding ones.
The new regulations are not close enough to the World Health Organisation International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes and, when I get a chance I’ll be recording here, and telling the Government in my response to the consultation, exactly why!

I can’t get the link to the cartoon to work
I’ve consciously averted my eyes from breast feeding promotions for a long while but I think my breast feeding wounds are sufficiently healed now that I could watch one without crying

It’s linking to the page that the cartoon is on as a URL instead of whatever URL you;re looking to send it to. Might be easier if you pick the “code” option when you edit the post.

Claire - it’s not about breastfeeding promotion in anyway, shape or form - it’s about informed choice promotion. It’s about removing the bias that formula manufacturers create that prevents parents from making truly informed choices. I’m sorry to hear you have had a hard time with your experiences and feelings about baby-feeding
